According to Purdue's OWL (2016, para. 4-5),

APA Style establishes standards of written communication concerning the organization of content, writing style, [and] citing references... Abiding by APA's standards as a writer will allow you to provide readers with cues they can use to follow your ideas more efficiently and to locate information of interest to them.

To see more about how to follow APA style in formatting your paper and citations, see our Citation Guide.

For information on where to find the APA Handbook in the library, see the catalog record for the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
